Introducing: Lauren Oldfield, Head of Learning, Development & Performance
As we commence the year, we are thrilled to announce the arrival of our newest team member, Lauren Oldfield.
Lauren joins us as the Head of Learning, Development, and Performance, and we look forward to her contributions to the business.
Her primary focus will involve close collaboration with our team members to enhance career growth and progression, assisting individuals not only in thriving but also in attaining their career aspirations.
We asked Lauren a few questions…
Tell us a bit about your previous experience.
I spent 8 years at my previous company, starting as a Trainee with no prior recruitment experience. Over 6 years, I worked as a consultant and established a Mobile Technology division. Following a brief break for maternity leave, I returned to oversee the L&D department, aiming to enhance performance across the UK. One of my proudest achievements is the fantastic team I built and had the privilege to work with.
Why do you think learning and development are important in the workplace?
Learning and Development are fundamental in ensuring that individuals possess the knowledge and tools needed for success. A high-performance culture thrives when supported by ongoing training, coaching, and mentoring. In recruitment, offering a robust L&D program with real-world context is vital for driving performance.
Aside from L&D, what are you passionate about in your career and workplace?
I'm passionate about fostering a safe and supportive environment for women in the industry, empowering them to pursue careers alongside like-minded female leaders. I believe recruitment accommodates diverse talents and personalities, emphasising that passion, drive, and hard work pave the way for a successful and fulfilling career.
What are you looking forward to the most about working at MBI?
I was impressed by Mackinnon Bruce's achievements and the success stories of consultants within the business. The leadership's commitment to investing in their employees' career development was particularly compelling. I'm excited to collaborate with talented individuals, supporting their journey and success in recruitment, while also learning from their expertise.
