Confidential Search | Global Manufacturing & Consumer Business | $3B+ Revenue
A global manufacturing and consumer products group is seeking a Vice President, Global Tax to design, build, and lead a world-class tax function from the ground up.
Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, this newly created position will define the global tax vision, execute strategy, and establish a cohesive tax structure spanning 40+ legal entities across 20+ jurisdictions. The business has recently undergone major transformation following significant investment and is now shifting from a historically U.S.-centric model to a truly global organization — targeting aggressive growth and acquisition activity over the next 12–24 months.
This role will appeal to a high-potential tax executive who thrives in complex, fast-paced, and entrepreneurial environments, and who can balance strategic leadership with hands-on execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and scale an integrated global tax organization, aligning tax governance, planning, and compliance across regions.
- Develop and deliver a global tax strategy that supports expansion, M&A integration, and long-term capital deployment.
- Oversee transfer pricing, international tax planning, and cross-border structuring initiatives.
- Implement tax risk frameworks, internal controls, and reporting standards (ASC 740 / IAS 12).
- Act as a trusted partner to Finance, Legal, Treasury, and Corporate Development functions, embedding tax into strategic decision-making.
- Lead and grow a small but developing team (currently four, expanding to ten) across the U.S., Europe, and Asia.
The Ideal Profile
- 15+ years of progressive tax leadership in multinational, matrixed environments.
- Deep expertise in U.S. and international tax, transfer pricing, and cross-border structuring.
- Proven experience in M&A, global expansion, and organizational transformation.
- Background with complex, multi-entity businesses in manufacturing, consumer goods, or industrial sectors.
- Hands-on, agile leader comfortable operating in lean environments while building scalable global processes.
- Culturally humble, collaborative, and “we-first” mindset.
- Ideally based in the East Coast or Central U.S. time zone.
The Process
Three-stage interview process involving senior leadership and global finance stakeholders. The company is open to appointing the right person immediately, though the full process may conclude early next year.
