Senior Counsel Global Intellectual Property & Marketing
Our client is an industry leader within speciality and industrial chemicals, with HQ in US. Multibillion MNC targeting significant growth, with clear strategy and plan. Due to expansion, and significant growth targets the client is looking to recruit a Senior Counsel Global Intellectual Property & Marketing to be based in their international hub in Singapore. The role, reporting to the Group General Counsel will be lead global IP and marketing legal strategy.
This role will advise senior leadership, collaborate cross functionally, and provide legal oversight for global patent, trademark, copyright and licensing. A key focus for the role, will be supporting the global marketing team on advertising law, brand collaborations, sponsorships whilst reviewing marketing materials ensuring global compliance and brand integrity. You will lead the global IP strategy, manage and protect IP portfolio, drive licensing, sponsorships, and brand collaboration whilst serving as primary legal advisor to global marketing. The role will also lead IP enforcement and risk management, whist supporting innovation and R&D partnerships. In addition, responsibilities include drafting and negotiating complex IP agreements and providing counsel to senior leadership.
We invite applications from those possessing the following:
- 8 years experience in IP law, ideally within a multinational corporation or legal firm
- JD or LLB from an accredited institution
- Licensed to practice law in at least one jurisdiction
- Expertise in trademark, patent, copyright, licensing and branding law
- Track record managing global IP portfolios and complex enforcement
- Ability to partner effectively with cross functional teams including marketing, R&D, commercial
- Excellent contract drafting, negotiation and communication
- Strategic thinker, with agility and flexibility to work in a matrixed organisation
A plus, but not pre-requisite would be having experience with US IP, as this client are based in US.
