The Role
Reporting to the Finance Director (EMEA)
We are seeking someone to support the business operations in Greece. The role will report to the Senior Manager, Accounting Europe Asia located in Italy, and to the local Business Manager. Primary responsibilities include management of local accounting, tax, and filing operations in Greece and supporting the local General manager in a growing environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly closure using Netsuite, GL accounts reconciliations/classes, IC reconciliations, AR/AP details, bank details, dividend payments, and other cash transfers across the Group;
- Coordinate and oversee tax matters and deal with local advisor and US tax Manager. Tax matters are mainly related to current income taxes, DTA/DTL, VAT, WHT, R&D deductions opportunities, etc;
- Manage Preparation of monthly accrual and related supporting documentation;
- Support to Global Finance function in implementing new accounting principles/tools;
- Support to Global Finance function in automatizing the internal flow (from paper to shared folders);
Requirements
- Professional working proficiency in English
- Availability for coming to the office 5 days/week (candidate needs to be Athens-based)
- Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations with ideally strong experience with IFRS
- Minimum of 3 – 5 years of Audit experience
- ACA / ACCA / ICAEW qualification desirable
- ERP experience – NetSuite is preferred
