Mackinnon Bruce are currently partnered with a large, global life science tool manufacturer who have developed a strong portfolio of Capital Equipment and Reagents which are key for drug discovery and drug development with a particular focus on areas including Immuno-oncology, Infectious Diseases and Inflammatory Diseases.
The team in APAC is now looking for a dedicated Sales Specialist to take responsibility for both the direct sales and distribution partners management throughout Japan selling the full product portfolio on offer. You will be driving sales across the territory through continued management of current clients and new business development
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key customers, key opinion leaders, and stakeholders to identify their needs and provide tailored solutions.
- Channel Management: Build and maintain a solid relationship with distributors and dealers to explore business opportunities and create an accurate sales forecast.
- Sales Forecasting and Reporting: Implement accurate sales forecasting and reporting mechanisms. Provide regular updates to APAC management and Japan Country Manager on the sales pipeline situation, risk assessment in the forecast, support needed, and a contingency plan (if needed).
- Information Collection: Collect information on research application(s), unmet research needs, customer spending, and competition at each target customer to enhance an offer to a customer.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with technical application support, marketing, and service engineers to ensure effective management of the sales process from lead generation to revenue recognition.
Skills & Qualification Needed:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant life sciences or business-related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
- At least 5 years in sales function within the life sciences or biotechnology industry, with a successful history of achieving sales targets and experience in managing distributor(s) and dealer(s).
- Sales experience in capital equipment. Experience in the flow cytometer business is preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of the life sciences market, customer funding cycle, customer needs, and customer purchase behavior.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build lasting relationships with customers, channel partners, and internal stakeholders.

- Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute sales plans effectively. Results-oriented and driven to exceed sales goals and objectives.
- Self-motivated to succeed and be a master of the complex sales process.
- A conversational level of English. The business level is preferred
