Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Principal Mining Engineer based in Sudbury, Ontario, to provide strategic engineering expertise and technical leadership for mining projects worldwide. The role involves overseeing mine design, planning, and optimisation to ensure projects meet safety, efficiency, and economic targets. The successful candidate will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and guide junior engineers, contributing to high-quality project delivery on a global scale.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead mine design, planning, and scheduling for underground and/or surface operations.
  • Provide technical oversight for resource development, production optimisation, and operational efficiency.
  • Support client projects globally with engineering solutions, feasibility studies, and technical reports.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers and technical staff.
  • Ensure engineering solutions comply with safety standards, environmental regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Evaluate and recommend mining methods, equipment, and operational strategies.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mining Engineering or related field.
  • Professional engineering designation (P.Eng.) or equivalent.
  • Extensive experience in mine planning, design, and operations.
  • Strong project management, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with mining software (e.g., Deswik, MineSched, Surpac, or similar).
  • Experience supporting international mining projects is a strong asset.
