We are working with an industry-leading, fast-growing organisation in the food and beverage ingredient space to expand its U.S. commercial team. As part of their ongoing North American growth strategy, they are seeking an experienced Business Development Territory Manager to oversee the U.S. East Coast region. About the Role
This position is ideal for a self-driven, technically knowledgeable sales professional with proven experience in B2B ingredient sales—particularly within the food, beverage, or health & nutrition sectors. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing key customer relationships, developing new business opportunities, and driving revenue growth through strategic account management.
Responsibilities
- Position the company as a trusted industry leader in sweetener and flavour solutions through expert consultation, premium quality, and outstanding service.
- Manage and grow existing customer relationships while proactively identifying and closing new business opportunities.
- Develop and execute customer-specific strategies to achieve revenue and margin goals.
- Facilitate technical collaboration between customer R&D teams and internal formulation experts.
- Build a deep understanding of the product portfolio, customer procurement processes, and market dynamics.
- Contribute to sales forecasting, pricing strategy, and long-term commercial planning.
- Represent the company at trade shows, industry conferences, and customer events as a brand ambassador.
Qualifications
- 5-10+ years of successful B2B sales experience within food, beverage, or ingredient manufacturing.
- Strong understanding of sweeteners, flavours, or related speciality ingredients preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Business, or a related field preferred.
- Based in the U.S. East Coast region; able to travel 30–50% (road and air).
- Proven ability to develop and maintain long-term customer partnerships.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal abilities.
- Highly organised, proactive, and capable of managing multiple accounts and projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint and Excel.
